We looked at chop suey history in the post for Mama Murphy’s chop suey from East Moline, Illinois.
From a box sold in Christine, North Dakota.
Chinese Chop Suey
1-1/2 lb. veal
1/2 lb. pork steak
Brown good.
1 large stalk celery, cut into cubes. Add H20 to keep moist. Add onions (3). Cook real good, 2 hours.
2 or 3 Tbsp. molasses
2 Tbsp. chop suey sauce
About 1 hour before done, add bean sprouts. Thicken. Salt and pepper. Serve with noodles and rice. Chinese vegetables.
Cornstarch.
Shrimp Dressing
1 c. flour
1 c. ice H20
1 egg
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. sugar
2 Tbsp. fat
Mix and fry shrimp in 375 deg.
