Pork Chow Mein

Starting with butter.

Here’s the back:

From a box sold in East Moline, Illinois.

Pork Chow Mein


  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 cups pork

2 cups thinly sliced celery
1-1/2 cups sliced onions
2 cups boiling water
2 chicken bouillon cubes

Cover and cook 10 minutes.

1 (3 oz.) can mushrooms
1 can water chestnuts
1 green pepper, sliced

Add and simmer 2 minutes.

Mix and add:

  • 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 3 Tbsp. soy sauce

Cook until cornstarch is dissolved. Sprinkle toasted almonds on top.

    Omg. I have been looking fur this recipe for years! My mother (long passed away) made this fur our family and we loved it. After she died we looked everywhere for this recipe which she said she cut out of a newspaper. Thank you so much for pinning this.
