Butter Fondant

Perhaps to decorate a Christmas cake?

Butter Fondant

1 stick butter
5 cups confectioners sugar
1/4 cup whipping cream
1 teaspoon vanilla

Cream butter thoroughly. Add sugar slowly and continue beating until mixture is light and crumbly. Add cream and vanilla. Beat until completely blended. Portions of dough may be colored with food coloring. Shape and decorate as desired. Store in a cool place.
