Brown Sugar Pound Cake
1 lb. brown sugar
1 c. sugar
2 sticks butter
1/2 c. shortening
5 eggs
3 c. flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 c. milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup pecans, chopped
Cream butter, shortening and sugars until light and fluffy. Add one egg at a time, beating after each egg addition.
Sift flour and baking powder together. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Add vanilla and mix well. Fold in nuts.
Bake in a greased 10-inch tube pan at 300 deg. for two hours or until tests done.
