Pumpkin Bread
2/3 c. shortening
2-2/3 c. sugar
4 eggs
2 c. pumpkin
3-1/3 c. flour
2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1-1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
2/3 c. water
2/3 c. raisins or currants
2/3 c. nuts
Bake at 350 deg. about 1 hour

Pumpkin Bread method (provided by Yesterdish)
- Grease three 9″ by 5″ loaf pans.
- Sift or whisk together flour, ground cloves, cinnamon, baking powder, and baking soda. Set aside.
- Cream together sugar and shortening; mix eggs, water, and pumpkin into creamed mixture.
- Once the eggs and pumpkin are fully incorporated, stir in the sifted dry ingredients.
- Fold in the nuts and raisins or currants. Bake as directed.
