Bacon Dressing

With vinegar, sugar, and cornstarch.

(Pa.) Bacon Dressing

(Served in Bird-in-Day and Meadowbooks Restaurants.)

Fry 1 slice of bacon and lift out to cool.

Add to drippings:

  • 1/2 cup of water
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1/4 c. vinegar (more if one wants very sour)

Bring to boil. In meantime beat an egg, pour some hot mix onto egg, stir and return to pan; stir constantly while adding about 1 Tsbp. of cornstarch dissolved in small amount of water.
