Macaroni and Beef Casserole

I’m on the fence about adding an “American” cuisine tag, but if I add one, this will get it.

I’m on the fence because I don’t know if I want to be in the position of deciding things aren’t American cuisine. Maybe just “classic?”

Macaroni and Beef Casserole

1 lb. ground beef
1 pkg. sloppy joe mix
1 6oz. can tomato paste
1 1/2 cup water
2 cups elbow macaroni
1 can whole kernel corn, drained
2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, grated

Cook meat until it loses red color. Stir in seasoning mix, water. Bring to boil, then simmer 10 minutes.

Cook macaroni until just done; stir in meat mixture, corn, 1 cup cheese.

Put in buttered pan with remaining cheese. Bake 350 until hot, 45 minutes.
