Banana Cream Pie

With custard.

From a box sold in Adams, Minnesota, with ephemera from Ohio.

Banana Cream Pie

  • 1/3 c. flour
  • 2/3 c. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt

Mix gradually; add 2 c. scalded milk.

Cook over moderate heat. Keep stirring until thickened and boils; cook three minutes. Remove from heat.

Add small amount to 3 slightly beaten egg yolks.

Stir in remaining hot mixture. Cook 1 minute; keep stirring.


  • 2 T. butter
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Cool slightly.

Bananas sliced; then, filling.
