Chili Sauce

Sorry for the lack of historical context today. I have to renew my subscriptions to some databases and I can’t do that during the holiday weekend. Maybe I should catch up on my ironing, like Janice, here.

From the box of G.Y. from Wichita, Kansas.

Chili Sauce

2 dozen ripe tomatoes
6 large onions
1 Tablespoon salt
2 pods hot red pepper (I put chili pepper)
1 cup sugar
1 cup vinegar
1 tablespoon mixed spices (tie in cloth)

I used cucumbers and green peppers and kept tasting to see if it was alright. I also put celery seed in too.

I thought you might want to use your peck of tomatoes this way. I’ve got some big onions if you want some. I’m going to iron today.
