With coconut and black walnuts.
From a box sold in East Moline, Illinois.
3/4 c. butter
3 Tbsp. granulated sugar
1-1/2 c. flour
Cream butter and sugar well. Blend in flour. Pat mixture into greased cake pan. Bake in a 375 deg. oven for 15 minutes or until brown.
3 egg whites, stiffly beaten
3 yolks, beaten
2 c. brown sugar
1 c. coconut
1/2 c. black walnuts
Add brown sugar to beaten yolks. Blend well. Add nuts and coconut.
Fold in beaten whites. Pour this over the baked mixture and return to oven for 20 or 25 minutes. Cover with powdered sugar and cut in squares.
