Pumpkin Pie

With a cream option.

From the box of A.D. from Lutz, Florida, by way of Pennsylvania in the 1940s, and originating in Ohio in the 1920s.

Pumpkin Pie

1-1/4 cup strained pumpkin
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ginger
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 egg
1 cup milk

Add sugar, salt and spices to pumpkin. Add milk, scalded, when cool. Add egg, slightly beaten. Bake iwth one crust.

If a richer pie is desired, use 1 cup of pumpkin, 1/2 cup cream and 2 eggs.
