Quick Nut Bread

From the box of A.D. from Lutz, Florida, by way of Pennsylvania in the 1940s, and originating in Ohio in the 1920s.

Quick Nut Bread

3 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
3 scant tsp. baking powder
1-1/2 Tbsp. sugar
1 c. nut meats
1-1/2 c. milk
2 Tbsp. melted Crisco

Sift together first four ingredients. Add the well beaten egg to the milk. Then add the nut meats cut fine, then the two Tbsp. melted Crisco. Mix all together and bake one hour in moderate oven.
