Nut Cake

With the minimum required ingredients.

From the box of A.D. from Lutz, Florida, by way of Pennsylvania in the 1940s, and originating in Ohio in the 1920s.

Nut Cake

1/2 cup butter
1-1/2 cup sugar
2-1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup milk
1 cup nut meats
3 eggs
3/4 tsp. baking powder

Rub butter and sugar to a light cream. Add eggs, beaten light, then the flour, sifted with baking powder. Mix with milk and nuts into a rather firm batter. Bake in a paper lined pan in steady oven. 35 minutes.
