Berry Muffins

No particular berries, mind you.

From the box of A.D. from Lutz, Florida, by way of Pennsylvania in the 1940s, and originating in Ohio in the 1920s.

Berry Muffins

1/4 c. butter
1/4 c. sugar
1 egg
3/4 c. milk or water
2 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/8 tsp. salt
1 cup berries, washed and drained]

Cream 1/4 c. butter with 1/4 c. sugar.

Add 1 egg well beaten, 3/4 cup milk or water, 2 c. flour sifted with 3 tsp. of baking powder, and 1/8 tsp.salt.

Add 1 cup washed and drained berries. Beat well.

Divide into greased and floured muffin pans. Bake 20 minutes in a moderate oven.
