Panouchi and Cinnamon Rolls

Panouchi is another spelling of penuche. Penuche is a fudge-like candy.

Panouchi

Ingredients:

2 c. brown sugar
2/3 c. milk
1 c. broken nuts
1/4 t. vanilla

Method:

Put the sugar and milk into a saucepan and mix them well. Place the mixture over the fire and heat it slowly to the boiling point. Boil slowly until it forms a soft ball in cold water.

Take it from fire; add vanilla and nuts. Cool, beat and pour on buttered plates.

Cinnamon Roll

Roll bread dough to 1/3 inch in thickness; spread with butter and sprinkle with a mixture of 2/3 c. sugar and 1/3 c. cinnamon. Roll as jelly roll and cut into 1 inch pieces. Place on a greasedpan flat sides down. Let rise and bake.
