Betty’s Salad

Subtitled “holiday salad,” in case you don’t know a Betty.

Betty’s Salad (Holiday Salad)

1 pkg. spinach — clean, stem and drained
1 pkg. lettuce — (1 head)
1 can bean sprouts, drained
1 can water chestnuts, drained and sliced
3 boiled eggs, chopped fine
1 small onion, chopped fine


6 slices fried crisp bacon, crumbled
Save grease and make 1/2 cup liquid if not enough; use salad oil.

1/4 cup vinegar
1/3 cup ketchup
1-2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
3/4 cup sugar
2 t. Lowry’s seasoned salt

Mix well warm; pour in jar. Open out of refrigerator. Don’t pour over salad until ready to serve.
