Mabel’s Mince Meat

It’s a rare mince that still has meat in it, these days.

Mabel’s Mince Meat

2 cups lean ground meat
6 cups apples, ground
2 cups raisins
2 cups currants
1 cup (2 sticks) margarine or butter
1 cup beef stock
2 cups sugar
3 cups apple juice
1/2 cup vinegar
1/2 cup Karo syrup
2 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. nutmeg
1 Tbsp. cinnamon
1 Tbsp. cloves

Mix well and simmer two hours in heavy kettle.

Pack in jars and seal, or freeze.
