Ice Cream Crunchies

But can kids make ’em?

This ad from the October 7, 1962 edition of the Hobbs (New Mexico) Daily News-Sun says they can (and to use Skippy peanut butter):

Ice Cream Crunches

1/2 cup Karo syrup (red label)
3 cups Rice Krispies
1/2 cup Peanut Butter
1 pt. brick ice cream

Blend syrup and peanut butter thoroughly. Press mixture into 13 x 9 inch pan and place in freezer until firm.

Cut into 3-inch squares and place a s lice of ice cream between 2 squares. Cut each into 2 bars.

Serve or wrap in aluminum foil and freeze.
