Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies — Redman

1-1/2 cups | 3/4 cup | white sugar |

2 cups | 1 cup | shortening |
4 cups | 2 cups | oatmeal |
2 tsp. | 1 tsp. | hot water |
4 cups | 2 cups | semi-sweet chocolate chips (can use 1 cup) |
2 tsp. | 1 tsp. | salt |
2 tsp. | 1 tsp. | vanilla |
2 tsp. | 1 tsp. | baking soda |
2 tsp. | 1 tsp. | baking powder |
- Sift flour with soda, salt, and baking powder.
- Cream shortening, add sugar and eggs one at a time, beating after each addition. Add water and sift in dry ingredients.
- Add vanilla, chocolate chips, and oatmeal.
- Drop off of teaspoon in gobs about same size.
- Bake at 375 deg. for 8 minutes.
