Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

With instructions for double, but I’m not strictly clear how many cookies the single recipe makes.

From a box sold in Nampa, Idaho.

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies — Redman

(double) (standard)
3 cups 1-1/2 cups flour
1-1/2 cups 3/4 cup brown sugar
1-1/2 cups 3/4 cup white sugar
4 2 eggs
2 cups 1 cup shortening
4 cups 2 cups oatmeal
2 tsp. 1 tsp. hot water
4 cups 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (can use 1 cup)
2 tsp. 1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. 1 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. 1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. 1 tsp. baking powder

 

  1. Sift flour with soda, salt, and baking powder.
  2. Cream shortening, add sugar and eggs one at a time, beating after each addition. Add water and sift in dry ingredients.
  3. Add vanilla, chocolate chips, and oatmeal.
  4. Drop off of teaspoon in gobs about same size.
  5. Bake at 375 deg. for 8 minutes.
