Fruit Nut Bars

With dates and vanilla.

Fruit Nut Bars

3/4 cup sifted flour
1 cup sugar
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/8 tsp. salt
1/2 cup corn oil
2 eggs, unbeaten
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 cup (8 oz. pkg.) dates, finely cut
1 cup chopped nuts

Mix and sift first four ingredients. Make a well and add in order, oil, eggs, and vanilla. Beat unties moth. Add dates and nuts; mix well. Turn into greased shallow baking dish (11 x 7 x 1-1/2 inches).

Bake in moderate oven (350 deg.) 35 minutes. Cut into bars while warm.
