Cranberry Bread

With buttermilk and fresh cranberries.

From a box sold in Martinez, California.

Cranberry Bread

2-1/2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
2 Tbsp. grated orange rind
1 (8 oz.) pkg. dates, in 1/4ths
1-1/2 c. fresh whole cranberries
1 c. nuts, optional

2 eggs, beaten
3/4 c. vegetable oil
1 c. buttermilk

Mix together till well blended. Bake 350 deg. Greased pans.

Bundt pan–40 minutes.
Loafs–35 minutes.

Glaze (if desired):
1/3 c. frozen orange juice, thawed
1/3 c. sugar

Boil 4 minutes.
