Using unsweetened cocoa.

From the box of C.N. sold in De Soto, Kansas.


  1. Scald milk in double boiler.
  2. Mix cocoa and sugar in saucepan.
  3. Stir water into the sugar and cocoa mixture.
  4. Boil mixture 5 minutes.
  5. Add cocoa mixture to scalded milk.
  6. Cook 5 minutes longer or until smooth.
  7. When done, beat with a dover egg beater until foamy and serve immediately.

1 pt. scalded milk
1 pt. boiling water
2 Tbsp. cocoa
2 to 4 tsp. sugar
