Cream Cookies

With lemon juice or extract.

From the box of A.D. from Lutz, Florida, by way of Pennsylvania in the 1940s, and originating in Ohio in the 1920s.

Cream Cookies

Cream 1/2 c. butter and 1/2 c. sugar

2 eggs, well beaten
1/2 c. cream or milk
4 c. flour sifted with 3 tsp. baking powder

Add 1/2 tsp. lemon juice or extract. Mix well.

Turn out on a floured board. Knead lightly; roll out to 1/4 inch thick. Cut out with cutter and placed on a greased pan. Bake in a hot oven for 15 minutes.
