Walnut Drop Cookies

With vanilla, brown sugar, and my favorite cereal from growing up.

Yeah, Product 19 was my favorite. I haven’t had cereal for a few years but I bet it still is. There’s something about the crunchy-crispy shatter.

Walnut Drop Cookies

2 c. Product 19 cereal
1-1/2 c. flour
1/2 t. baking soda
1 t. salt
1 c. butter, softened
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 t. vanilla extract
1 c. chopped walnuts

  1. Measure cereal and crush to 1 cup. Set aside.
  2. Stir together flour, soda and salt. Set aside.
  3. In large mixing bowl, beat butter, sugar and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla. Beat well.Add flour mixture. Mix until well combined. Stir in walnuts and cereal. Drop by level tablespoon on greased baking sheets.
  4. Bake in oven at 350 degrees about 14 minutes or until golden brown. Cool slightly before removing from baking sheets. Place on wire racks. Makes about 5 dozen cookies.
