Maybe you could use the fig jam recipe for this?

Fig Preserves with Jell-o (as written on card)
3 c. peeled mashed figs
3 c. sugar
1 6-oz. pkg. strawberry or raspberry Jell-o
Mix sugar + Jell-o well + mix with figs. Cook slow about 20 minutes or a little more stirring as they cook.
