Spicy Nut Mix
3/4 c. granulated sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. allspice
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 egg white
2 1/2 T. water
1 c. pecan halves
1 c. walnut halves / blanched almonds
In small mixing bowl, combine sugar, the spices and salt. Beat egg white lightly and stir into sugar-spice mixture; stir in water. Blend well.
Add nuts about 1/2 c. at a time. Using a fork, stir to coat nut well. Lift up, drain, then placed on greased baking sheet, separating each nut. Bake at 275 deg. until golden and crusty (45 minutes). Remove from baking sheet with spatula. Store in tight lid container.
