I’ve never heard of this nickname (assuming I read it correctly). But the prospect of sourdough waffles intrigues me.
From a box sold in San Antonio, Texas.
Sourdough Scottie
(Pan cakes or waffle mix)
2-1/2 c. flour
2 c. milk
1/4 c. starter
Mix together in 2 at. container + let sit covered, at least 6 to 8 hours or overnight–put 1/2 c. or 1 c. starter in covered jar and place in refrigerator.
Add
2 eggs–mix well together and add 2 T. cooking oil
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
1 T. sugar
