For the ketchup-in-chocolate-cake crowd, there’s a mayonnaise cake. While all the ingredients of homemade mayo would work in a cake, I haven’t thought enough about whether commercial mayo would be as kind.

Mayonnaise Cake
2 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 cup sugar
2 tsp. cocoa
2 tsp. vanilla
1 cup cold water
1 cup mayonnaise
Mix all together and bake in 350 deg. for 35 minutes. Grease and flour pan.
Frosting
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup cocoa
1 dash salt
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cube butter [1 stick]
Mix all together and boil for one minute. Take off stove. Add 2 tsp. vanilla, 2 Tbsp. peanut butter and mix.
