Ginger Creams

Ginger Creams

1/4 cup shortening
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1/3 cup molasses
2 cups sifted all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ginger
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon cloves
1/2 cup water

Oven 400 deg.

Cream together shortening and sugar; beat in egg. Stir in molasses. Sift dry ingredients; add alternately with water. Drop from teaspoon onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 400 deg. about 8 min. While slightly warm frost with confectioner’s icing. Makes 3 dozen.
