Banana Nut Bread

1/2 cup shortening or butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 or 3 well-ripened bananas
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup nut meats
4 Tbsp. milk

Mix shortening or butter and sugar until creamy. Add beaten eggs. Cut bananas and nuts into small pieces and add, plus milk.

Sift flour with salt and soda and add to mixture. Bake in a well-greased loaf pan one hour and ten minutes in a 350 degree oven.

This makes a medium-sized loaf.
