Cream:
- 1 cup sugar
- 4 Tbsp. shortening
Add 2 eggs and mix.
Add:
- 1/2 cup flour
- 4 Tbsp. cocoa
- salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- nuts
Bake 30 minutes at 300 deg., no longer.
8 x 8 pan.
Hey, I think I figured it out! From the “Penoche” recipe, you can see her “P”s look like “O”s (as in “Pet Milk”) and often she doesn’t dot her “i”s. So I believe the mystery name is “Peoria”. It’s an exotic foreign delight that travelled all the way from Illinois to Arizona!
