Butter Scotch Sauce

Good on cottage pudding or on ice cream.

If you’re using it for ice cream, you could accompany it with the chocolate sauce from the same box.

Butter Scotch Sauce

2 T. butter melted
3/4 c. brown sugar

Cook 1 minute.

Add 1/3 c. cream (can milk) and cook a while.
Cool and serve on cottage pudding

    My mother made a caramel sauce by melting butter in iron skillet, added mixture of 1 c brown sugar, I T flour, and browned that over med heat until a rich golden colour, about 5-7 min, being careful not to burn the sugar,f then carefully added I cup boiling water, and stirred until smooth, added vanilla and served warm over Apple Cottage pudding or Old English Plum Pudding at Christmas. I’ve never seen this sauce recipe anywhere, it was easy and so yummy!
