The second of two butterscotch cookie recipes in this box. The first uses butter, includes nuts, and omits vanilla.
From the box of L.S. from Joplin, Missouri.
1 c. shortening
2 c. brown sugar (packed)
3 c. flour
1 t. soda
1 t. baking powder
1 t. vanilla
1/4 t. salt
1 c. chopped nuts
Mix. Chill, then make into rolls and put in ice box until solid enough to slice.
Bake on greased cookie sheet about 10 minutes at 350 deg. or until delicate brown.
