Pumpkin Bread

Can’t you already smell this baking?

From a box sold in Columbiaville, Michigan.

Pumpkin Bread

3 cups sugar
1 cup salad oil
4 eggs, beaten
1 can (16 oz.) pumpkin
2/3 cup water
3 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves

Cream sugar and oil. Add eggs and pumpkin; mix well.

Sift dry ingredients. Add alternately with water. Pour into two well-greased and floured 9×5 inch loaf pans.

Bake at 340 deg., 1 1/2 hours. Let stand 10 minutes. Remove from pan to cool.

Makes two loaves.
